Also, thanks to Mom's brown paper bag flooring DIY discovery, we may have just figured out how we are going to finish the floors. Instead of bags, we'll use old maps. Mom already donated an old atlas to the cause. I'll be on the lookout for more in thrift stores. Basically, you crumple up maps, flatten them out again, glue them to the floor, and coat them thickly with serious polyurethane.
