Trim Finished

We trimmed the exterior with 5/4" deep 3 1/2" wide cedar. I threw a couple interior shots in for the fun of it.

Light Fixtures Ordered

After much deliberation we decided to put 12 V lighting in the house. There'll be a total of six recessed LED lights between the peak of the great area and underneath the loft. Additionally, there is a dome light in the loft and a dome light above the sink. And we threw a porch light in for good measure.

Two more windows!

Drew and I snuck some work in before it started raining. The front top window and the port side window are now installed. They still need to be flashed. One more window remains. But first we have to clear out everything stored in the loft to access it. Long overdue, but we also went through our tools. It was one of those situations when you get married where you have two sets of everything.
Then next step after the last window is to access the siding damage. Hopefully before Drew hits the road again we can have the entire exterior done... but we'll see.

The first 4 windows!

Thanks to help from Dad and Patricia, the first 4 windows are up. Again, put windows up before siding. That's why some of the siding boards are removed. Luckily they can be replaced with a certain amount of ease. All the windows are white vinyl and tempered. 6 of the 7 are push open casement windows and the remaining one is fixed. The cost all together was around $1400 from Sound Glass.

SIding September 2011

This post is a bit delayed. But the siding was installed by Drew and Dad. It is bevelled cedar siding intended for 6" coverage, but we decided to go with 5" coverage because it would look better. Also, if it weren't for the cost of windows... install them first! It makes it much easier to install the windows.

August! Roof!

In August Drew and I went over to Western Washington and put a metal Fabral roof on the house. It wasn't very hard but the steep pitch and skylight made a tiny project much larger. I've also noticed that once we have been away from the project for a while it takes a few to get my head wrapped around it again. I know that it is almost December and we are a bit behind on getting these pictures up. We were a bit busy this fall getting married, moving (into a rental), and looking for jobs. The house we moved into is small and I am starting to think it is the right size, so I'm not sure if the tiny house will be the right size for us. However, we still plan to finish it and use it... only time will tell the details.

Productive January

So I haven't exactly been working on the house these last few months, but while I've been away I've picked up ceramics again. You even have the opportunity to buy some of it at my new online shop. (I know you are just so lucky) I will be back in Western Washington in June and I plan on getting the roof and siding on and the place wired. Wish me luck.
